A Q 's (Questions & Answers)
What should we bring?
- Every tour is different. We
provide a list on each page for suggested items to have with
you to make your expedition comfortable.
Can we bring our camera?
- Of course and bring extra
film too! If it makes you feel more comfortable, pack it in a
plastic ziplock bag.
What should we wear?
- Always be prepared for west
coast weather. Layers are suggested. You can always take a layer
off if you find yourself too warm.
Are the boats safe?
- We are very proud of our boats and take very good care of them. They are newly built tour boats with washrooms on board and
state of the art navigation equipment. They are also the only
yellow tour boats in Tofino (you can't miss us on the water!)

Are we going to get wet?
- This is not a ride at Disneyland, there are no waves that come into the boat, but on a windy
day you may get a bit of ocean spray on you. How refreshing!
How many passengers do
the boats carry?
I am pregnant/have a
broken collarbone/ osteoporosis. Can I go on a zodiac?
Are we guaranteed to
see whales?
- We very seldom come back to
the dock without seeing at least one whale - if it so happens
you are without a sighting, we will give you a raincheck for the
next time you wish to come out.
Will we see killer whales?
- Killer whales in Clayoquot
Sound are transient hunters (we cannot predict their arrival
or departure) but when we are lucky enough to have them in the
area it is a very exciting time for the whaling fleet.
Can we bring our dog?
How big are the waves?
- The waves are called swells
and with the everchanging tides and weather we cannot predict
how big they will be but we can assure you that our skippers will
not take you where the boats cannot maneuver with the utmost
safety.
Are we going to get sick?
- If you are in the least bit
worried, chew gum -- it seems to help.
You may also purchase travel bands to prevent seasickness. They are available in our office
